"Notations" is a cycle of eleven canvases, 73"x47" each, now in the collection of the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, CT. It was painted unstretched in 1974-75 with the canvases stapled directly to the wall and first exhibited that way in Matrix at the Wadsworth Atheneum in 1975. In the early 80's each canvas was mounted on heavy cotton duck canvas and stretched. The Museum acquired "Notations" in 1995 and exhibited it that year at "Matrix is 20!" "Notations" was shown again in Matrix, in yet another configuration1998.
